The days of sitting still are long gone. It seems that now EVERYTHING is "clicking". She is crawling with speed and determination like she has been for months instead of a few weeks. She is pulling herself up into a standing position as effortlessly as breathing. She signed her first word (light) right before turning 10 months.
We have always made it a point that Makenna's bed was only for sleeping. So I really shouldn't have been surprised when I went to take Makenna's 10 month photos in her crib that she immediately started to cry. She after all had only been awake for a couple of hours and it became quite apparent that she was NOT ready to go back to bed! Needless to say the photo shoot ended up spanning two mornings.
Makenna is still wearing some 9 month clothes, although she seems to be in between sizes. She loves loves loves to eat. I'm certain that if given the opportunity she would eat all day long. Well, she pretty much does. She has a great appetite and loves most foods. A few weeks ago she had salmon with pesto at Grandma & Grandpa's and LOVED it. She inhaled it as if it were cottage cheese- another favorite. Finger foods have become a way of life. I am still struggling to find a way to keep her from spitting during mealtimes. Over the past week she has also discovered a high octave in her screaming range. Our ears are adjusting to the ringing. We will have to distribute ear plugs among the neighbors once the weather warms.
