Today was our second day of Parent/Tot swim class and once again Makenna loved it. Our vacation to Hawaii really helped develop this love of big water, being that she already loved bath time. Evan came with us this week so that we could document our little swimmer in action. She definitely has the splashing down and even a strong kick. The lapping tongue surfaced this week as she proceeded to sneak a drink every chance she had! She is the funniest thing! I love her comfort level in the water and how going under doesn't even faze her. Our friend and teacher Heidi does an amazing job with the tots and even the parents incorporating songs to early techniques and help the kids become more comfortable in the water. My only wish would be to swim and then be magically dry and dressed for at the moment it is our biggest hurdle. Today's surprise in the dressing room was an exploded diaper! Yes, that's right. Makenna's diaper was so water logged that the water adsorbing gel broke through the diaper shell and all over Makenna and her towel. Quite a mess. With each locker room experience we learning something new for next time. Still contemplating how to avoid another explosion.
