Mother's Day Weekend

What better way to celebrate motherhood than at the zoo!  We packed up the car & Makenna up for a day at Woodland Park Zoo.  This was my first experience with this zoo and I was floored.  Set in a Seattle neighborhood it has more of a park feel than a zoo.   The exhibits were amazing and the flow of the grounds helped managed the crowds of people out celebrating moms and the gorgeous weather.  Not only a fun outing for our little family, but we invited along our good friends & Makenna's special buddies:  the Myers.

The only group photo captured of course came at the end of our adventure.  :)  All that fun left more than the kids a little sleepy.

The first new friends we met in the gates...PENGUINS!

At the flamingo exhibit the kids got a chance to incubate their own "eggs".  :)

Near the zoo's farm we found the petting zoo where we were able to visit with my favorite- the goats!

HIPPO!  This was the first time seeing a hippo.  I loved that both were enjoying a dip in the water.  I found it amazing how they were able to disappear into its depth, then suddenly reappear right after a stream of bubbles appear.

This was more Makenna's kind of Hippo!  It's placement was breathtaking.

We found the horses of the carousel.    I had a hard time prying her off it!  She sure does love to go round and round.

Sunday, Mother's Day, we enjoyed a wonderful dinner with family.  Makenna was able to squeeze in a round of golf in Poppa & Grandma's backyard.  She sure has a passion for the sport.
This was also her first time sporting pigtails!  Personally I think she looks precious- a little too big, but precious.

Amazingly enough our strongwilled girl allowed her Dada to show her the proper golf stance.

Pure joy & excitement from golfing.  Only our little girl.

Love for her Gran on Mother's Day.

Helping Gran & Grandma open her creations for them on this special Mother's Day.

My Mommasita.  Love her so much.

The 3 moms plus Miss Makenna.  It was a Happy Mother's Day indeed.
